What is a MOOC?
A massive open online course (MOOC ) is an online course aimed at unlimited participation and open access via the web. In addition to traditional course materials such as filmed lectures, readings, and problem sets, many MOOCs provide interactive user forums to support community interactions among students, professors, and teaching assistants.
Why take a MOOC?
Why take this particular MOOC - Integrating Critical Thinking into the Exploration of Culture in an EFL Setting?
This means that alongside the online lectures, there will be weekly in-person meetings at the American Corner in Struga, facilitated by Zora Bushovska, MA (TESOL) English Language Advisor at the Bureau for the Development of Education. During these sessions, you will have the chance to go into deeper discussion over the course materials with your colleagues, conceptualize lesson plans and adapt them to your students and context.
For regular participation in these meetings, you will receive a certificate by the U.S. Embassy in Skopje, in addition to the certificate/badges earned upon successful completion of the course.
