American Corner Tetovo has the pleasure to invite all the youth from 17- 24 years old to participate on the next session of NATO Youth Club with a special guest Mr. Stevo Pendarovski, National Coordinator for Macedonia’s membership preparation in NATO.
Youth benefits of NATO Umbrella will be the topic of the presentation of Mr. Pendarovski, while the second part will be open microphone, which will be dedicated for participants questions and discussion regarding the topic.
Mission of the Club: The aim of this club is for NATO, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, as a political and military World organization of security that aims creating and maintaining peace, stability and creation of freedom and well being of people’s lives. Young high school and University students aged 17- 24 will learn how NATO in political aspect promotes democratic values and enables members to consult and cooperate on defense and security-related issues to solve problems, build trust and, in the long run, prevent conflict. While in military aspect NATO is committed to the peaceful resolution of disputes. If diplomatic efforts fail, it has the military power to undertake crisis-management operations. These are carried out under the collective defense clause of NATO's founding treaty - Article 5 of the Washington Treaty or under a United Nations mandate, alone or in cooperation with other countries and international organizations.
The main purpose is for young people to familiarize themselves with NATO and to be an active part of the club, to promote NATO as a security umbrella, peace, freedom and economic wellbeing in our communities to be more prepared for membership in this organization. They will also learn more about the benefit that NATO offers for youth with its membership or the right path. For the youth perspective in our country, the contribution to make our country more secure with the highest standard of living by raising the values of Macedonia, as a place of opportunities, as a country rich in ethnic and religious diversities. With these values to create a country where there is no place for extremism and confusion but a country that joins NATO’s mission for counter terrorism.
